Developed and marketed by Nick Andrews, bytebos was one of the first portable real-time operating systems (RTOS) with integrated device support. The vision was to see the evolution of the mircrocontrollers into today's System on a Chip (SOIC). The marketplace was in need of an RTOS with a rich API and HAL supporting a complete set of drivers and stacks for a wide variety of MCUs, SOICs, and DSPs
Software activities continued with the developmet of PERK, a pthread API designed for embedded systems Used in limited number of custom applications, PERK is under constant development and available upon request.
Introduced and first licensed in 1989, licensing ended in 2000, and standard support obligations expired in 2002.
Today, bytebos support is available for licensed customers. To renew support, please send us an email.
